Low Noise (low-stimulus) ASMR Yoga with BananaBlondie108
Since doing yoga with BananaBlondie108, aka Michelle Muench, over the last couple of years, I’ve found that, as a yoga teacher, she’s open to creating yoga classes fitting all people’s abilities. Like this low-stimulus ASMR yoga playlist, below; or the one I did over on her site for a few months while living in The House of Mouldy Horrors: ‘Yoga in a Chair’.
My personal favourite yoga classes are the Booty yoga workouts; however, these can go for 40 minutes. Michelle created one on her site that’s only 20 minutes, using exercise bands; it’s fast, useful and feels like a yoga practice that’s not too taxing yet targets the butt muscles nicely.
However, today, I share with you: my ASMR (low-stimulis) Yoga that also happens to be available for free on YouTube.
Defining Stimulus: a thing or event that evokes a specific functional reaction in an organ or tissue: areas of the brain which respond to auditory stimuli
Apple Dictionary
Even with sore joints and tiredness, yoga is the only exercise I can do while not feeling as if I’m pushing myself, punishing myself into a puffing, huffing, headachy being that collapses in bed for the rest of the day and sometimes the day after too. That’s No Fun.
Don’t get me wrong, since living in a clean environment (when we are not suffering in the bushfire smoke), if I stay indoors, away from the air flow filling up my backyard with washing powder, fabric softener, I can go most of the day without needing a sleep: and this way still I can practice yoga (sometimes I am in bed by 11 am if I get hit early by going outside in smoke, holiday-maker-petrol-head fumes or neighbourhood chemical-cleaning activities).
If I don’t exercise or meditate and get out of my headspace for a while I can begin to feel like a prisoner in my own house–that’s just a matter of perception in the moment, though.
Yoga is one of my most important tasks to tick off my list for the day, especially if I can’t meditate or listen to Binaural beats due to feeling exhausted, suffering headaches made worse by noise or need a dark room: these type of symptoms often include all three. I often think of Michelle’s coaching words:
“Even just 10 minutes a day.”

It sounds easy and it is. the idea behind just 10 minutes is not only does it give you time to relax, focus on your breathing and check in with yourself–and a lot of the time, have a good ol’ stretch, but you can also find yourself staying longer and longer each time. Low Stimulus Yoga with Banana Blondie just makes it easier: It’s such a rejuvenating practice and I highly recommend it if you want to get some mental distance from physical suffering.
Often, I have the type of symptoms where light and sound can hurt my head, making headaches worse. Low stimulus ASMR Yoga has allowed me to do yoga on my bad days, not so much on my worst days; but those are the days I just lay on my mat with a blanky covering my eyes and just breathe. For 10 minutes, lol.
Enjoy 🙂
