There’s a reason for showing my underwear today, back at Victoria University, in one of my very last classes the teacher was talking about blogging. They said, in relation to disclosing personal information,
“There’s no need to show the world your undies.”
A teacher once said…
So I’d like to share with you how finding undergarments that not laced with chemical-irritant concoctions is tricky–unless the fabrics are certified organic: it’s nice finding out the undergarments don’t contain skin-itching chemical irritants just by reading the label as opposed to wearing it and getting a tell-tale rash instead! In the past I’ve just chosen the least chemically irritant and the most comfortable, but today, in the name of writer research, I can show you more than just my undies. (Bras are a passion of mine–as due to particular allergies and sensitivities and wanting comfort too, finding bras to tick all these boxes has been tricky.) I’ve blogged about them here, here, and in a weird way, here. During the time I’ve had this blog and lived with a chronic illness, I’ve had a lot to say about underwear.
It’s also good to support companies who do the right thing by other humans!
It’s a common scenario, a consumer finds their new bra itching their skin, stinking with nasty chemical inhalant irritants, and their new bra is the opposite of a delight to wear? Then just imagine what the people making those clothes are exposed to? Welcome to the world of fast fashion. It’s not just us sensitive canaries who are being harmed here.
Solution: Booty Ecowear is a brand I not only wear and love but also a company with ethics I fully support. They’re also certified by WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production):
WRAP’s mission is to ensure sewn products are being produced under lawful, humane and ethical conditions.
Boody Certifications
The Boody EcoWear panties have been a thing for a while: they are black, boy leg in design and can pass for bathers if I need to strip off and change clothes in a Jiffy (in the car) because I’ve been caught in the chemical-irritant drift of a fragrance emitting device in a public restroom.
And again they pass for bathers in summer if I want a quick swim while on one of my nature walks.
Lately my partner has also seen the light of wearing organic and ethically made underpants from Boody (I received these from Booty so technically, they’re my undies.) Around the house. His are also underpants (jocks as he tells it) as you can see:
Now back to showing the rest of my underwear. My Boody Padded Shaper Crop Bra just came in the mail, kindly bought for me by a friend because either he knows how upset I was at throwing out my clothes from the house of mouldy horrors, or he too wants to see me in my underwear!
The Nude g-strings are seamless like all their other garments and are invisible under yoga pants. And they don’t feel like a weird hessian boa constrictor has your lady parts taken hostage for the day because they are seamless!
They are easy to buy free of fragrance contamination; especially second hand fragrance from being tried on by other customers as they come out new, in packages: each item comes inside a small Booty recyclable package, which if purchasing more than one, they are stacked inside a larger, thicker cardboard box. I can wear my Boody wear within days of receiving it; the fabric is that clean!
So here’s my top bras, undergarments and even pants, and why they may just suit you:
Boody Ecowear capri leggings suit warm and cool weather as they’re breathable. I lived in my Boody capri leggings when I went on my medical trip to Marrocydoore for treatment of CIRS. This is when I found that sleeping in fresh outdoor air to be the only real treatment so far for my illness.
Boody Ecowear
Boody Ecowear underwire free bras are my go-to bras: mostly the Boody Ecowear Racerback Sports Bra; and for those days when I’m feeling a bit extra, the Boody Ecowear Padded Shaper Crop Bra: all are totally underwire free bras
Why I think you’ll love them too: Not only is the fabric made from bamboo yarn that is silky-soft to touch, easy on the skin, hypoallergenic and highly breathable; it really is a miracle plant, producing one of the softest yarns available. And who wants pesky underwires anyway? The sizes of the Boody Ecowear underwire free bras run from sizes XS (6) up to L (16)

I bought a pair of full length boody tights recently, to wear as a layer during cold winters without heating. Yes, very silky and comfortable, my only complaint being I’d like a choice of colour.

Yes, colours would be nice… to hide the dog hair in my case.
