Recently, since taking the VIP nasal spray from Your Solutions Pharmacy, I’ve been feeling a lot more like my usual self; so much so that my creative tendencies are whipping about in full flight. Below is a recipe for a surface cleaner that has a lovely natural smell to it. I’ll see how this batch goes, mould-wise, and maybe add 20% isopropyl alcohol to the mix. I also used distilled water.
The Recipe is as follows:
CITRUS VINEGAR CLEANER
Add the citrus slices, lemon, organic and lyme are fine individually or on their own. Cut them so they fit down the bottle’s neck. Fill just under half way and cover with vinegar, leaving it to sit for two weeks in warmer weather, three weeks in cooler weather. Strain and dilute with distilled water, 2 parts citrus mix and 2 parts distilled water. Pour into your favourite spray bottle and keep on hand as a surface cleaner. This method will also save you money without having to buy cleaning chemicals our Australian Government have not regulated and still refuse to look into why so many people get sick from fragrances.

As much as I like the smell of citrus, please be aware that the chemical limonene, the natural oil which makes the citrus smell like citrus, (and and also things like dill and basil) can be a huge problem for many MCS sufferers. Our house has to be totally fragrance free. Fragrance for me includes natural scents as well as scientifically formulated ones. So, it’s good to be aware that “natural” isn’t necessarily safe for everyone.

Adding rosemary sprigs to lemon and grapefruit vinegar smells divine.
I’ve tried a few different combos now, and on a whim added just finished lemon/rosemary to some leftover grapefruit vinegar in my sprayer (which I loved on its own) and that quickly became my favourite. I also read on someone else’s blog (don’t remember where or I would credit her) that if you warm up your vinegar before pouring over your peels it drastically speeds up the process. That seems to work well.

Sounds great, will try as we have so many lemons. Natural stuff for cleaning is the best solution, effective and safe to everyone.

Yes, I agree. The less ingredients, the better IMO 🙂
